Description:
For most of the past 11,000 years people living in Montana and the Northern Rockies have been hunter-gatherers, obtaining food by hunting and foraging instead of growing crops and raising animals. The talk will describe the Clovis people of the Paleoindian period (11,000 to 8,000 years ago), to the Native Americans of the Late Prehistoric period (1500 to 300 years ago) prior to European-American contact. These people became extremely knowledgeable about their natural environment. Refreshments provided by Nancy and Lee Silliman.
