Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration
4:00 PM (America/Denver)
St. Anthony's Catholic Church
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration Description:
On January 20th, 2025, Missoula's Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration will honor the profound legacy of a leader who showed us how to protect and advance our freedoms through dignity, integrity, and peaceful action. We invite you to join us for an intergenerational celebration at St. Anthony Catholic Church from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a community social from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

This year's celebration draws inspiration from Dr. King's timeless wisdom: "Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred." In a time when our community and nation face complex challenges to civil rights and social justice, these words remind us that protecting our freedoms requires both courage and moral integrity. Through our celebration, we aim to demonstrate how constructive dialogue, mutual understanding, and peaceful action can advance the cause of justice while preserving our shared humanity.

The event will bring together racial justice leaders, youth voices, and community artists in a powerful demonstration of unity and purpose. Featured elements include our annual Youth Art & Essay Contest, musical performances, and inspiring calls to action from youth leaders. The celebration will be streamed live on MCAT's YouTube channel on January 20th, extending our reach to those unable to attend in person.
