For lovers of words, there is perhaps no better joy than learning to better observe, understand and make meaning of the world around them. This class will introduce writers of any skill-level to three different genres of creative writing: poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction. You will learn techniques and styles unique to each genre, as well as develop skills that are fluid between genre. Find your voice, your style, question the world around you and follow your bewilderment to the end of the page…then on to the next one. Students will also be introduced to the workshop method to foster a community of writers. Please bring a journal and an open, exploratory mind.
