This Healthcare Literacy course is
intended for ESL learners. The topics
covered will assist participants to
understand foundational work-forcereadiness
skills through classroom
activities and training. The classes will
highlight essential skills needed as
a beginning member of a healthcare
team. The common topics covered are
designed to enhance verbal and written
communications, beginning healthcare
terminology, basic self-or-patient
care, ethical and legal concerns and
career exploration. Must be enrolled in
the Academic Success Program and
attend ESL new student enrollment
session prior to class.
