Welcome to the free training course for families, caregivers, professionals, and anyone in the Missoula area who is interested in learning about postural care.
24 hour postural management or postural care has been discussed and developed since the 1970s outside North America, but in the United States it is a new approach not commonly used in a systematic way. This course provides background and theory for an eclectic approach to 24 hour postural management, including instruction in practical strategies for implementation. Hands-on practice with therapeutic positioning offers experience in planning postural care interventions that will be successful. Other developed countries are far ahead of us in recognizing the role of 24 hour positioning as a non-invasive way to support the health and well-being of persons who cannot easily change their positions frequently throughout the day and night. Join us to learn more about what you can do as a professional or family member to support people who can benefit from 24 hour postural care!
12 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be available for therapists upon completion of the full two day course.
The first day of the course will include a simple lunch with vegetarian and gluten-free options available.
