Bear Fair
11:00 AM Hungry Bear Steak House
Description:
It’s a Bear Fair on Saturday, August 2nd from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Hungry Bear Steak House backyard. Learn how to coexist with wildlife from bear management and research experts, aversive conditioning specialists and electric fencing experts.
Wind River Bear Institute starts off the day with a demonstration by their Karelian Bear dogs. Additional speakers include: Chris Servheen, USFWS Grizzly Bear Specialist; Tim Manley, MTFWP Grizzly Bear Specialist; Chuck Bartelbaugh, Center for Wildlife Information, and Jeff Stetz with the Northern Divide Grizzly Bear Project. Representatives from the US Forest Service, Plum Creek Timber Company and the Vital Ground Foundation will also have informational displays.
Free bratwurst, beer, beverages and door prizes! Games and activities for children of all ages. Enjoy a walk on the Bear Aware trail. A bake sale and raffle will help support Seeley-Swan Bear Aware programs. Fun for the entire family but please refrain from bringing your dogs.
