Welcome Home Community Picnic

Description:
A group of Missoula citizens has organized a Welcome Home Community Picnic to honor all Veterans. The picnic will run from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 15th (Father's Day) at Caras Park. There will be plenty of entertainment, and there is no admission charge. Food will be by donation for the general public and provided at no charge for Veterans and ID card holders. A food ticket will be given after providing the military ID or after making a donation. This is a non-political event, just a day to thank our Veterans for all that they have done for us as a nation. The following groups will provide the entertainment: Gary Jillette Band, Old Time Fiddlers, Black Mountain Blue Grass, Mud Slide Charlies, Amy Martin, Smoke and Shodown. There will be children's activities, and the Carousel will also be free during the event.
The Welcome Home group is also working on establishing a network to help link Veterans with services that are available to them and to build a base of businesses and professionals that will provide discounts to the families of deployed service members and service members who are transitioning back to civilian life after a deployment.
