A new comedy by Montana playwright Jason Pyette, Rugburns is the
Montana Actors' Theatre's second production in Missoula this summer.
Rugburns is a farcical comedy centred on a dinner party gone awry; when
preparing for the party Harold and Susan get in an argument. In an
attempt to communicate with his wife, Harold brings out an old piece of
carpet from the couples first apartment, the premise being: the one
standing on the carpet gets to talk, while the other listens. However,
the argument goes from bad to terrible when the guests arrive and must
take part in this attempt at couple’s therapy. Throw in a confused
passer-by who just wants to use the phone, and the party turns into an
all-out assault, with the rug at the center of the action providing a
little order to their accusations and search for truth.
