Romanoff is the grandnephew of Russia's last czar, Nicholas II. Today
Romanoff lives outside of San Francisco, California in the small town
of Inverness. His preferred medium is Shrinky Dinks (plastic sheets
that shringk by two-thirds when cooked in the oven). Romanoff draws
and paints, shrinks the inimitable scenes, and then mounts them on
panels. His work depicts personal memories, impressions of American
news and culture, and scenes of domestic life. In the book that
accompanies the exhibition, Romanoff's modern version of Russian
miniatures chronicles a most unusual, almost magical childhood. Text
