Description:
The University of Montana Department of Drama/Dance is pleased to offer Stop Kiss, a contemporary and award-winning love story with both humor and pathos. Stop Kiss runs in the Masquer Theatre of the Performing Arts and Radio/Television Center on campus February 26-March 1, 4-8, 2008, at 7:30 p.m.
The first meeting between young New Yorker Callie—a world-wise traffic reporter—and recent Big Apple transplant Sara—an idealistic teacher—is more comic than romantic. But their acquaintance soon progresses to friendship and deep attraction. Their intense rapport leads to self-discovery and commitment until a vicious act of violence threatens their budding romance. Stop Kiss chronicles Callie and Sara’s story in an intriguingly non-linear fashion, full of tension and tenderness. Funny, poignant, and affecting, Diana Son’s thought-provoking play received extensive critical acclaim, including the 1999 Obie Award.
