Missoula Moves to Amend is proud to host David Cobb, lawyer, activist, and engaged citizen from the national Move to Amend headquarters in Eureka, California.  A long-time passionate advocate for sustainability, human rights, and authentic democracy, David was the Green Party candidate for the office of Attorney General in his home state of Texas in 2002 and for U.S. President in 2004.<br />
<br />
In addition to leading the battle to bring about a constitutional amendment to overturn the Citizens United Supreme Court decision by embarking on speaking tours throughout the United States, David serves as the Director of National Projects for Democracy Unlimited.<br />
<br />
The event is open to the public and free. Donations will be requested to defray travel expenses for David, but nobody will be turned away for lack of funds. Signature gatherers will be present for those wanting to sign the new Stand with Montanans petition to place a constitutional amendment resolution on the November ballot for voter approval.<br />
<br />
Likewise, members of Missoula Moves to Amend will be signing up supporters for long-term mobilization of the greater Missoula Area for the looming confrontation with the American power elite over our attempts to strike down the Supreme Court\'s constitutional interpretation that corporations are people and that money is speech.<br />
