Terra Cognita, new work by David Peters

David Peters was born and raised in Amarillo Texas where he began making pots about eleven years ago. He earned his bachelors of art from Utah State University. Upon graduating he became a resident at the Archie Bray Foundation in Helena Montana where he began using local materials for his work. He is now doing his graduate work at Montana State University where he continues to study and experiment with indigenous ceramic materials. Terra Cognita will feature David's newest work created from clays found around the state of Montana.
The exhibition will be on display at the Clay Studio of Missoula from June 1-29 2012, with an opening reception on Friday, June 1, from 5:30-9pm.
Gallery events are free and open to the public.
In conjunction with his exhibition, David will lead a workshop at the Clay Studio, Can you dig it? Discovering Local Clay, on June 30 and July 1.
