Description:
June 7 10am-5pm

Explore the exciting medium of encaustic painting with a twist. This ancient art form of wax painting is a perfect compliment for mixed media work. Collage and image transfer are achieved with the use of transfer papers, text, rice paper and toner images. If you are new to encaustic painting, don’t worry, we will cover the basics to get you started and then begin adding images and additional media. Expect a full day of work in the studio resulting in several finished paintings. Students should bring up to 6 rigid surfaces to paint on, 8”x10” or smaller in size, or students may purchase boards at the museum. Call for suggested materials. Minimum: 7 students. This class will have an additional $10 charge for materials.
