Description:
On June 6th, Forward Montana is pleased to present Kalispell area
painter Stephanie Barrett-Pointer and her exhibition "Inner Landscapes:
Paintings and Mixed Media Works 2006-2008". Forward MT will host an
opening reception at 736 S. Higgins Ave. on First Friday from 5-8 pm,
with musical entertainment by Lee Zimmerman.
For the last few years, Stephanie's work has been informed by
illusions, reactions, color, beauty, poetry, dreams, myths, overlapping
boundaries, and re-interpretations of on-site art .
Stephanie
has taught drawing and is currently teaching Design at F.V.C.C. and
gives private watercolor lessons. She has studied art at the University
of Oregon, Eugene, the University of California, Berkeley,
Aix-en-Provence, France, Art Center College of Design, Pasadena,
California, University of Montana, Missoula, various workshops and much
self-teaching.
These studies resulted in a B.A in Art from Berkeley, a B.F.A. in
Illustration from A.C.C.D. Pasadena and an M.A. in Master Teacher of
Fine Arts and Humanities from U.M. Missoula.
Recent
shows include Kalispell Coffee Traders, U of M Art Gallery, Hockaday
Museum, Stillwater Gallery and Walking Man Gallery in Whitefish and she
has been the recipient of an Artist-Forest-Community residency in the
Helena National Forest.
Stephanie is represented by Art Fusion in Bigfork and Stillwater Gallery in Whitefish
