The Sapphire Quilt Club of Stevensville invites the public to its 2008 quilt show “In My Backyard” on Friday, July 11 and Saturday, July 12. Friday, the show runs from 10 am to 6 pm on Friday and from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday.
The location for the show is Stevensville High School Gym, 300 Park Street, Stevensville, Montana.
This year, two members of our club are being honored as featured quilt artists. Mary Alice Sutherlin creates a strong sense of family and tradition in her quilts. She devotes many, many hours creating “portable hugs” for each of her extended family members. Cyndie McKinley stitches weekly with her friends and admits that she is addicted to quilting. Last year, in fact, she purchased a professional quilting machine to challenge her desire to learn even more about her passion. These two wonderful ladies are from the Victor area and have mastered many of the different creation techniques. Come to the show to see their work.
Demonstration, door prizes, fabric raffles, quilts for sale, a raffle quilt, a Singer Featherweight raffle, and many vendors will be at this year’s show. A food concession featuring a healthy and tasty lunch will be available. Admission at the door is $3.
