 6th Annual Project Selvedge!

All Fashion Shows start at 6:30pm at Selvedge Studio (509 S Higgins).

The cost to the public is $1

Project Selvedge is an amateur fashion design competition (modeled loosely after Project Runway). Each week designers are given a specific challenge and guidelines. They have one week to sew (all supplies are provided by Selvedge), and each Friday at 6:30 we host a live fashion show and judging here at Selvedge. One designer will be eliminated each week until we have a winner!

*Challenge 5 Fashion Show: Friday, March 9

*Challenge 6 Fashion Show: Friday, March 16

*Challenge FINALE: Friday, March 30

Fashion Shows happen most Fridays in February and March. The show starts at 6:30 at

Selvedge (509 S Higgins), but you might want to come early because it gets CROWDED in

here. This year we will be charging $1 at the door for admission, but once you’re in, you can

drink, eat and enjoy excellent fashion.

Designers will be given specific challenge guidelines, a budget and rules. Supplies will be provided by Selvedge Studio and each contestant will have a week to sew the garment at home. Obviously all construction and design must be done without help from others, please be honest & be prepared to present your designs and process to the judges. Ready-made patterns may be used as long as they are modified significantly. Please bring the pattern to the show so the judges can see what you’ve done.

Two designers will compete in the final challenge and fashion show for the grand prize.

In order of priority, each challenge will be judged on:

1) Overall design

2) Creativity

3) Solution to challenges

4) Quality of craftsmanship & fit of clothing on model

Each challenge is by elimination. The judges will decide who doesn’t return for the next challenge. One designer is eliminated each challenge until two remain. The public will be invited attend judging’s and vote for their favorite designers. Votes will be taken into consideration by the judges.

Prizes include:

* $500 in fabric from Selvedge Studio.

* $150 in gift certificates donated by Betty’s Divine

*And of course, good times, 15 minutes of fame and the opportunity to hob nob with Missoula fashion’s finest.
