YWCA to Host Vice-Presidential Debate & Dialogue
1:30 PM YWCA
Description:
YWCA Missoula will host a brown bag lunch and public conversation about the vice- presidential debate on Friday, Oct. 3, from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Slated for the day after the live vice presidential debate, which is sponsored by the YWCA USA, the Missoula chapter will play a recorded version starting at 10 a.m. for those who want to watch it before the discussion begins.
“Sarah Palin is the woman on every voter’s mind right now, regardless of your political preferences,” said executive director Cindy Weese. “Sexism and racism are huge factors in this election, so it makes sense for the YWCA to host a nonpartisan forum to discuss these issues.”
Local radio personality J.J. Quinn of Mountain Broadcasting will moderate the discussion.
To submit your discussion question, call 543.6691. For a list of suggested questions, go to the YWCA USA website at www.ywca.org and click on the YWCA Vote link. The League of Women Voters also has put together a discussion guide at www.lwv.org.
