Learn the basics of carving into a two-dimensional piece of wood with carver John Thompson. John designed most of the ponies and carved the dragon ring machine for the Missoula Carousel. Learn basic safety and handling techniques of carving tools, create and transfer your own designs to wood, then carve and paint or stain your creation for a finishing touch.
