A Family Tapestry: Adventures In Batiking

Indonesian for “wax writing,” batik is the process of making a design on fabric by coating it with wax to repel dye. Students will create their own original patterns, motifs, and color combinations that will identify their family, while learning about the Javanese tradition of the family tapestry.
