Description:
FOURTH ANNUAL GRIZ FOR KIDS TOY DRIVE SET FOR NOV. 1 GAME
Come take on an important cause while the Montana
Grizzlies take on Northern Arizona at the fourth annual Griz for Kids
Toy Drive, Saturday, Nov. 1, at The University of Montana.
Attendees can drop off new, unwrapped toys at all
entrances to Washington-Grizzly Stadium. If you are unable to make the
game, all Missoula Federal Credit Union locations will accept cash
donations for the drive.
Last year's toy drive was led by former Griz linebacker
Tyler Joyce, who helped the drive rake in hundreds of toy donations for
children in need during the holiday season. This year Mike Stadnyk, a
senior defensive end, is leading the effort.
"I wanted to get involved because I've seen the drive
for the past four years and I know what it does for the community," he
said.
Stadnyk said the goal for this year's drive is to
surpass the amount of toys and donations received in the past and get
more people involved than ever before. "As a football player, it's an
opportunity for me to give back to the community for all the
opportunities they've given to Griz football," Stadnyk said.
Toys will go to Western Montana agencies including
Mountain Home Montana, Head Start, Early Head Start, Missoula Indian
Center, Youth Homes Inc., Watson Children's Shelter, Big Brothers Big
Sisters, YMCA and WORD.
Sponsors of the event include UM and the Montana
Grizzlies, in partnership with Max Media, ABC 23 and Missoula Federal
Credit Union, in conjunction with 102.5 Mountain FM's Mountain of
Giving Toy Drive.
