"Behind the Headlines Revisited." Three outstanding UM
professors presented the first Community Lecture Series in 1998 and
will revisit their topics from 10 years ago -- issues even more
pertinent now than they were before Sept. 11 and the Iraq war. Feb. 12 and Feb. 19: Regents Professor of History Paul Lauren will present "Human Rights and the World Today." Feb. 26 and March 4: UM history Professor Richard Drake will present "The Global War on Terrorism: Its Origins and Likely Outcomes." March 11 and March 18: Professor Mehrdad Kia, assistant provost for International Programs, will present "Islam and the West." Only 200 lecture series tickets will be sold.
