Reaching Toward Environmentally Sustainable Health Care

Healthcare is complex, huge and leaves a big environmental footprint. More and more hospitals around the country are adopting practices that focus on energy efficiency and waste reduction, because it is good for public health, and also it is good for the bottom line. St. Patrick Hospital and Health Sciences Center in Missoula is nationally recognized for its environmental sustainability program. Come hear Beth Schenk, nurse and environmental sustainability coordinator, describe challenges and successes at St. Pat's at The Loft of Missoula, 119 West Main on January 16th. Refreshments begin at 5:30 p.m. and the presentation begins at 6:00. The event is the second installment of the SBC's Sustainability Shot series and is free and open to the public. The Series is sponsored by Family Dental Group, Energetechs, Portico Real Estate, Cherry Creek Radio, the Missoula Independent, and the Loft of Missoula.
