Free Cross-Country Ski

Description:
Missoula Children and Nature (MCN) is hosting a free cross-country ski outing for children and their families from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2013. Participants will learn to ski, explore Missoula's Pattee Canyon Recreation Area, and learn about winter ecology during this activity. Sponsored by Missoula Outdoor Learning Adventures (MOLA) and led by their professional staff of outdoor educators, this family cross-country ski day is part of MCN's "Got Nature?" monthly passport program.
Interested participants should call Ian Foster at 396-9562 to reserve their free cross-country ski gear. Gear is limited and will run out. MOLA staff will meet the group at 10 a.m. at the Pattee Canyon main trailhead, 4.2 miles up Pattee Canyon Dr. off of SW Higgins.
This introductory activity is designed for those who have little or no cross-country skiing experience, although all Missoula-area youth are encouraged to participate. It is free and open to children aged 4 years and up; however, all children must be accompanied by an adult. Children who attend this event will receive a "Got Nature?" passport card stamp; completed passport cards are redeemable for an award.
