Former long term Clay Studio resident artist Larry Phan returns to Missoula with his exhibition American Standard. Phan will display a diverse body of ceramic objects crafted for domestic use. The show will focus on the overkill of luxurious objects made for specific purposes.
Larry Phan was raised in the desert of the southwest. He received his BFA from Northern Arizona University, where he mainly focused on atmospheric utilitarian wares. Larry's passion for cooking and sharing food with others has influenced the direction of his work. Larry was a long-term Artist in Residence at the Clay Studio of Missoula, and now teaches at San Juan College, in Farmington, NM.
The exhibition will be on display at the Clay Studio of Missoula from July 6-27, 2012, with an opening reception with the Artist on Friday, July 6, from 5:30-9pm.
Gallery events are free and open to the public.
