Loose Change: Final Cut
7:30 PM University of Montana
Description:
The Peace & Justice Film Series Presents:
Loose Change: Final Cut
5:30pm & 7:30pm Thursday April 17
The third and final version of Loose Change premiered in the Bay Area in December 2007. The film's creator was inspired by a conversation with actor James Gandolfini who told him, "If you want to be a successful director, you have to have something to say to the world." In May 2002, he began writing "Loose Change," a fictional story about how he and his friends discovered that September 11th was an inside job. In researching the movie, it became apparent to him that the line between truth and fiction was far blurrier than he had suspected. Over the years, adding more and more information, the movie evolved into a documentary, one of the most widely viewed films ever posted on the Internet, and one that helped the budding 9/11 Truth movement evolve into a widespread grassroots phenomenon.
When the previous version, Loose Change 2, was shown at the SF International Inquiry into 9/11 (where there is much public support for the Truth movement), the producers were challenged by researchers in the audience who took issue with some of their information. To their credit, the producers of Loose Change 2 took the challenges, as well as information offered, to heart. Loose Change-Final Cut is a completely new film, with questionable pieces removed and new revelations and evidence incorporated. It has received approval from Dr. David Ray Griffin who has written and edited several excellent books on the topic of 9/11 and who served as primary fact checker.
