Description:
This course is taught through the School of Extended & Lifelong Learning at the University of Montana. The dates are July 21-22 and July 28-29 (both weekends). Participants will learn the basics of keeping honey bees, including bee biology and care of bees throughout the year. Course includes both classroom lectures and hands-on experience in the bee yard. Participants will be taught how to recognize common honey bee ailments and pests as well as the treatment for them. By the end of this course, participants will be able to manage honey bee colonies for maximum bee health and honey production. Register online by July 16.
