Nia 5 Stages
9:00 AM Red Willow Learning Center
Description:
Nia 5 Stages
Jody Mosher
Red Willow Learning Center, Missoula MT
Nia 5 Stages is a restorative, guided movement practice. Each stage represents one phase of movement in human development: embryonic, creeping, crawling, standing and walking. Each stage is a foundation for the next. In a two-part class format, participants begin with embryonic and move through each stage consecutively. Part one of class demonstrates each stage and explores Your Body's Way by allowing participants to move in natural time and without interference through the simple architecture. By the end of the first class participants sense the body's natural ability to realign and heal itself. The second part of class explores The Body's Way science where participants are provided with a focus. This educational component provides participants with an opportunity to develop and increase their "sensory IQ". Here, participants begin to re-educate, reclaim and increase body awareness, structural realignment, energy flow and vitality, relaxation, and dynamic ease throughout the body. Practicing Nia 5 Stages allows your body and mind to reclaim its natural wisdom and to increase mobility, flexibility, strength agility and stability. Given the right conditions, the body and mind move naturally towards healing and seek to function more freely. The practice takes place on the floor and requires light and comfortable clothing so participants can move freely and fully. Long sleeve shirts and sweat pants are ideal. Also jewelry or metal objects or tight clothing is not recommended as it will restrict movement. Nia 5 Stages is adaptable to every body type and provides an individualized map to self healing and transformation.
