Audubon sponsors birding trip to Dillon area

Five Valleys Audubon will explore southwest Montana on a 2-day field trip June 16-17. Participants will leave Missoula on Saturday at 7:30 a.m. The tour, led by Cynthia Hudson and Nate Kohler, will begin by observing birds in the short-grass prairie around Melrose with the group staying overnight in Dillon. On Sunday the group will cover sagebrush habitat in the Bannack area and end at Clark Canyon Reservoir. Call 722-0016 to sign up and to facilitate carpooling. There is a $10 charge per individual on multi-day field trips, plus participants need to arrange their own accommodations.
