Description:
What do four high school students and their teacher have to teach us about NAFTA, immigration, power, privilege, racism, and Zapatismo?
Four Big Sky High School students and their Spanish teacher travel to Chiapas, Mexico to learn firsthand of the effects of NAFTA, fair trade, Zapatismo and U.S. foreign policy on the people of Mexico. During their travels, they visit a Chiapaneco village of coffee growers that is associated with a fair trade cooperative. They are also the first group of international visitors to have ever entered this village. Listen to their stories of self-revelation as they discover power, privilege and hidden racism prevalent in the debate over immigration. They also ask provocative and probing questions about the limits of fair trade and supply-side wars.
