Nature's Kaleidoscope of Color
5:00 PM Forward Montana
Description:
On April 4th, Forward Montana, 736 S. Higgins Ave., is pleased to present Nature's Kaleidoscope of Color, a
mixed media exhibit from local artist couple Amanda and Danny Cox.
Primarily focusing on the beauty of plants, animals, and parental love,
and incorporating imagination and fantasy, this exhibition includes
works in watercolor, oil pastel, acrylic, colored pencil, collage,
masks, and sculpture.
Native Montanan Amanda Cox grew up in and around Missoula with a
family that has a close bond with nature. Watching local habitats
shrink as the human population grows has instilled a desire to focus on
preserving nature and beauty. In a fast paced industrial world, nature
provides a therapeutic subject matter for art where imagination may
live free.
Danny Cox has been an art enthusiast since childhood, always
encouraged to move forward by family and friends. He draws his
inspiration out of nature and her creative existence, trying to capture
joy, happiness, solace, and peace. Mostly self taught, he has had
training in high school and at the University of Montana. Currently,
he and his wife live in Turah, raising their son.
We will be celebrating with an opening reception
Friday April 4th from 5-8 pm. If you have questions, please feel free
to email me back.
