Speaking Volumes: Transforming Hate
7:00 PM Missoula Public Library
Description:
Missoula Public Library is joining with the Holter Museum of Art and MMAC at the University of Montana in offering programs as part of the “Speaking Volumes: Transforming Hate” traveling exhibit. Join us at Missoula Public Library for these free events:
· Altered Books Workshop. Saturday, Feb. 6, 2-3:30 p.m. Transform a book into artistic expression. Materials provided.
· Make Your Own Action Figure workshop. Saturday, Feb. 13, 2-3:30 p.m. If you were an action figure who would you be? Some materials provided or bring items to personalize to your families stories and cultural heritage.
· Many Faces, Many Places Story Times. Wednesday, Feb. 17, at 7 p.m.; Friday, Feb. 19, at 10:30 a.m.; Saturday, Feb. 20, at 11 a.m. Diversity-themes Story Time for preschoolers and families.
In addition, the library is offering a complete exhibit catalog for in-house viewing and a book display on civil rights and civil justices. For more information on Speaking Volumes, see the MMAC website at www.umt.edu/montanamuseum.
