Snowshoe Saunter at Lolo Peak

Description:
Missoula Children and Nature Network (MCNN) is hosting a free snowshoeing outing for children and their families from 9:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2012. Participants will get receive an introduction to snowshoeing, play games on snowshoes, and get to exploring on snowshoes. This family snowshoeing day is sponsored by Montana Natural History Center and REI. The event will be led by a Montana Natural History Center naturalist and is part of MCNN's "Got Nature?" monthly passport program.
Interested participants should call Ian Foster to reserve their FREE snowshoes., Additionally, FREE transportation will be available to the first dozen to register. Participants will meet at Montana Natural History Center, 120 Hickory Street, at 9:30am with intent to return by 3pm.
This introductory activity is designed for those who have little or no snowshoeing experience, although all are encouraged to participate. It is free and open to children aged 8 years and up; however, an adult must accompany all children. Children who attend this event will receive a "Got Nature?" passport card stamp; completed 2012 passport cards are redeemable for an award. Please dress appropriately including layers and waterproof or water-resistant footwear and bring pack a lunch and water.
The Missoula Children and Nature Network (MCNN) is a network n affiliation of organizations, agencies, businesses, and individuals committed to the goal of connecting youth with the natural world. Each month, MCNN offers one or more free, family-oriented, nature-based events through the "Got Nature?" passport program.
