Lewis & Clark's Encounters along the Columbia River
7:00 PM (America/Denver)
Lolo Community Center
Description:
There is over 8,000 years of evidence that Native Tribes from near and far have been Trading, Dickering and Bartering for Goods and Services at The Dalles (OR) along the Columbia River.

Dozens of Tribes gathered here because they could capture or trade for life-sustaining Salmon. The area was considered the largest marketplace for Native Trade in the Pacific Northwest.

Barbara Fifer's talk will focus on what the Lewis and Clark Expedition learned about these very experienced Indian Traders who plied their wares along the Columbia River in 1805 and 1806.
