Description:
Ayurveda 101 with Mindy Opper at the Red Willow Learning Center, Missoula MT
Ayurveda is the oldest system of health and healing based on the natural world. It is a sister science to yoga. Students of this 4-week long series will learn how to benefit from daily ayurvedic practices that can reduce stress, enhance well being, build immunity, and offer a new approach to a more personalized health plan. We would begin by introducing what Ayurveda is and its concept of good health. We will move into learning about our constitution or dosha, and the characteristics associated with each constituion. We will address some of the imbalances of each dosha and how our health is impacted by these imbalances. Diet, digestion, and lifestyle habits will also be addressed in the context of returning one to balance. By the end of the series, students should have a basic understanding of ayurveda and wellness enhancing practices specific to one's dosha that can lead to and sustain improved health.
Course schedule: Mondays, October 15- November 5, 7:00-8:30pm
Course cost: $25.00 per class or $100 for all four weeks.
Sliding fee scale is available, call Kathy Mangan for more information 721-0033.
