Refugee resettlement in Missoula will be discussed at an open forum on Tuesday,
Nov. 1, hosted by Soft Landing Missoula. Speakers will discuss the basics of the
global refugee crisis, the resettlement process, and what this looks like for Missoula.
The event, starting at 6 p.m. at Urey Lecture Hall on the University of Montana
campus, features three speakers: Molly Short Carr, executive director of the
Missoula office of the International Rescue Committee; Mary Poole, co-founder and
executive director of Soft Landing Missoula, and Wilmot J. Collins of Helena, a
former refugee from Liberia. Moderating the question-and- answer period after the
speakers will be School of Journalism Dean Larry Abramson. He will choose written
questions submitted by audience members.
