Papel Picado & Paper Marigolds
Join the ZACC for this FREE Festival of the Dead workshop where we will be creating the Mexican folk craft of creating Papel Picado banners. Using this intricate and delicate art form you can create banners and decorations for the Festival of the Dead parade and home. We will use scissors and scalpels to create pattern in tissue paper.
In conjunction with papel picado we'll be creating paper marigolds, a staple for any Festival of the Dead decoration. Make bold and bright flowers to elaborate a costume or create them to hand out to friends! This workshop is appropriate for all ages so bring the whole family or a hoard of friends. If you can make it please call and let us know so we make sure to have enough supplies on hand!
