GRIZZLY BEAR RECOVERY CONFERENCE ON UM CAMPUS, DOWNTOWN

MISSOULA-- Grizzly Bear Recovery: Crossroads or Crosshairs? starts on October 17th at 1:00pm on the University of Montana campus. A panel of experts will debate the pros and cons of removing Endangered Species Act protections for grizzly bears in the Northern Continental Divide Ecosystem, also known as the NCDE. This area includes Glacier National Park and the Bob Marshall Wilderness. There will also be presentations by representatives of the Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribes and
Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks.

The conference is sponsored by the Flathead-Lolo-Bitterroot Citizen Task Force, the UM Environmental Studies Dept. UM Wilderness Institute and Montana Chapter Sierra Club
