Mourning jewelry is an elegant and thoughtful way to memorialize a loved one. Adorning your body with such jewelry allows you to carry that person wherever you go. The oldest recorded pieces are from the 1600's and span across many cultures! It was tradition to use a loved one's hair. We will be constructing a necklace made up of a 1 inch round pendant (a photograph/scrap or writing, etc. will be placed on a metal bail, and covered with a glass dome), hammered metal components, beads, and string. The Remembrance Pendants workshop will take place at the ZACC, 235 N. 1st St W. *While all Classes and events are free and open to the public, ZACC requires advance registration so we can prepare adequately.
