The Missoula Community Theatre is holding an open audition on Sunday, October 1 for "A Christmas Carol: The Musical." The Charles Dickens classic story, accompanied by the glorious music of composer Alan Menken ("Disney's Beauty and the Beast"), has become a new holiday favorite.
The audition will take place from 1:00-5:00 PM on the third floor of the MCT Center for the Performing Arts. Please use the Main Street entrance. Children (ages 8-15) will audition from 1:00-2:30 PM. Adults (age 16 and older) will audition from 2:30-5:00 PM. No advance preparation is required to audition. Call-backs will likely take place the same evening.
Director Joseph Martinez anticipates casting 10 women, 13 men, 3 girls, and 4 boys. He and the production artistic staff, comprised of music director, Scott Koljonen, and choreographer, Colleen Rosbarsky, expect rehearsals to be weeknights from 7-10:30 PM. (Younger children will be dismissed from rehearsal earlier.) The performance dates for this three-week run are Nov. 30-Dec. 17, 2017. All 23 performances will take place at the MCT Center for the Performing Arts.
