Missoula Public Library will hand out free copies of The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien, Cracker (for middle schoolers), and Water Buffalo Days (for little readers) to kick off MPL's The Big Read 2014. The Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts, designed to revitalize the role of reading in American culture by exposing citizens to great works of literature and encouraging them to read for pleasure and enrichment. The Big Read is managed by Arts Midwest. The event is at the WOW bus at Clark Fork River Market from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
