6:30 PM (America/Denver)
Missoula Insectarium
Description:
The Clark Fork Coalition's Restoration Director Will McDowell and Aquatic Ecologist Sean Sullivan will give us an up-close look at the the incredible insects that occupy the Clark Fork River and explain how these bugs help unlock the responses of both aquatic and terrestrial communities to a legacy of heavy metals pollution- and the unprecedented efforts to cleanup our river.

Details:
Doors open at 6:30, speaker at 7:10. Admission is $5/members, $8/non-members, which includes two complementary drinks and entry to the presentation. Must be 21 or over for alcohol. Seats are limited, so please arrive as close to 6:30 as possible. We will have to close the doors once we are at capacity. The Insectarium will be open for exploration before the speaker and after, until 8:30.

More about our speakers:
Sean Sullivan is an Aquatic Ecologist and Invertebrate Taxonomist for the Missoula based biological consulting firm Rhithron Associates. Sean's work focuses on using benthic macroinvertebrate and algal communities to assist in the development of ecological assessments.

Will McDowell heads up the Clark Fork Coalition's restoration projects in the Upper Clark Fork. Through this work he builds partnerships with agricultural landowners, agencies, and other non-profits, so that restoration benefits both the rural community and the fish and wildlife, from "ridge to river."
