touched: An Installation by Chris Drobnock
5:30 PM (America/Denver)
The Clay Studio of Missoula
Description:
The Clay Studio of Missoula is proud to present a solo exhibition featuring the ceramic works of current artist in residence Chris Drobnock. Association or referential thought patterns occur constantly as we try to make sense of the world around us and we view everything against something we have already seen or experienced. Chris seeks to create a novel experience from using clay to re-fabricate objects that exist in everyday life. Though valorization of a commonplace thing, experience ties the physical thing to a history of use, making objects that are used more valuable through this association.

Chris Drobnock began his ceramics studies at Juniata College (PA). He received his BFA with a dual concentration in Ceramics and Printmaking at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and has worked as both a Studio/Lab Technician and an independent studio potter and sculptor in Pennsylvania. In 2016, Chris completed his MFA at University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. He is completing his second year of residency at the Clay Studio of Missoula in October.
