It’s hard to explain the affinity that swinging flies to Steelhead has to someone that has never seen the act of it happen. In fact, the more you know about it the more ludicrous it seems. Crawling over slippery, moss covered rocks to stand waist deep in cold, rushing glacial water while casting an 11 to 14 foot double handed fly rod, more than likely getting rained or snowed on for multiple days on end only for the potential to catch a fish?

The answer is unapologeically simple: Absolutely.
