Flavors of the World: Hot Curries for Hot Days
Tuesday, August 19, 6:30 pm, $35
During the dog days of summer, we usually stay away from hot prepared meals, but it's actually a great time to turn up the heat on your spice index. The theory is that eating spicy food raises your internal body temperature to match the temperature outside. Your blood circulation increases, you start sweating and once the moisture has evaporated, you've cooled off. Theo Smith, owner and chef of Missoula's Masala food truck, will test the idea's veracity with tonight's menu of global spicy curries. Come learn new dishes from some of the world's hottest countries and see if adding some heat to your diet will help keep you cool when the weather gets cooking this summer.
