Nagasaki 70th Anniversary Peace Commemoration
7:30 PM (America/Denver)
Missoula Art Museum
Description:
August 9th marks the 70th anniversary of the bombing of Nagasaki, Japan. In honor of this anniversary, the Jeannette Rankin Peace Center engaged the Missoula community in making 10,000 origami peace cranes, the symbol of world peace created by Japanese school children. These cranes will be displayed against the outside north wall of the museum as a backdrop for the ceremony to commemorate then and now. The ceremony will include presentations from international students and Missoula residents. Join us for a thoughtful reflection on nuclear war and international peace.
