River Recreation Monitoring: Volunteer Training
6:00 PM (America/Denver)
Madison Street Footbridge (under Madison Street)
Description:
River lovers needed! Help the Clark Fork Coalition and partners learn more about who and how many people are using Missoula’s beloved backyard rivers this summer.

Clark Fork Coalition, Missoula Parks and Recreation, Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, and Five Valleys Land Trust are teaming up to gather data on who and how many people are using the Clark Fork and Bitterroot Rivers near town. The data collected will be used to guide future management decisions on these rivers—such as improving access for different types of users, maintaining the natural integrity of the riparian areas, as well as acquiring funding to make new projects possible.

We need your help! We’re looking for volunteers to spend a few hours by the river in the afternoon/evening hours. During their shift, volunteers will be stationed at local river access areas (Buckhouse Bridge, Madison Street Footbridge, and Sha-Ron) to document river use. This the perfect job for folks who love the river!

Come to the Volunteer Training on July 24th at 6:00pm at the Madison Street Footbridge to learn more about the project and how you can get involved.

Ready to get started? We’ve got all the volunteer shifts lined out for the summer– see and sign up for shifts here: https://www.volunteersignup.org/KHJLF
