Spend the morning learning about the process of growing lavender, many of the healing properties of lavender, and how to distill lavender essential oils. and hydrosol. We will learn all about lavender and participate in an actual distillation process. This is an exciting process as we take the fresh cut lavender put it in the distillation still and like magic we have essentila oil and hydrosol to use. Karrie is excited to share this wonderful healing plant with you and how to make essential oils. Each person will take home lavender, hydrosol, and a small vial of essential oil. We will use lavender from the Gaiwan Garden and other local lavender for this hands on workshop.

Karrie Westwood has studied the practical use of essential oils and herbs for over 20 years. Training with the top experts in the field of aromatherapy. She has used it in her nursing practice and in her personal life to assist healing and move to a healthier mind and body connection. Aromatherapy and herbal medicine are no longer considered old fashioned but have taken on a whole new revival. As we as human's discover the connections between the plant and animal world and how important it is to honor and recognize this important alliance.

Each participant will receive a small bottle of lavender hydrosol and a bundle of lavender to enjoy. Karrie will be serving Lavender tea and lavender/lemon tea cookies. Enjoy!
