In this class we will engage in dancing and learning choreography, singing, playing drums, and making costumes with recycled materials, culminating in a performance at the end of the week. During this session, age-appropriate background info about African music, ethnic groups, musical instruments, types of dances, cultural practices, and the influence of African culture on other art forms, including popular modern American dances/music will be presented. This will be a lively and culturally enriching session with Tarn Ream, who has brought African music and dance presentations and classes to Montana schools and the community for over 20 years.
