Telling Stories of Empowerment

Description:
Join us July 20th from 6pm -8pm at the DDC for a dance and storytelling workshop for girls, ages 10-16. Heather Adams and Gillian Kessler and visiting instructor Hillary Thomas will lead the group in telling stories of empowerment through words and dance. This event is in connection with the Malawi Othakarhaka Missoula Artists to Africa trip. These ladies are taking these movements to Africa to help teach at the first annual Othakarkaka Girls Empowerment Camp Aug 1-8, 2017. Amplify Film Group will be traveling to Africa as well to create a film about the Othakarhaka Foundation. "Othakarhaka" means "passing on the kindness." Everyone is encouraged and welcome to come. Pre-register by calling 541-7240. $12 fee for workshop. All proceeds and donations will go to fund the Othakarhaka Girls Empowerment Camp.
