Empty Bowls | Bending Toward Justice Description:
On June 29, a simple meal shared among neighbors will serve as a reminder that there are those in our community who will go to bed hungry tonight.

Join us for an inspiring discussion about food justice, led by acclaimed national anti-hunger advocate Janet Poppendieck. Twenty years ago, Janet wrote Sweet Charity, a book examining the history and role of charity in food security. This is a unique opportunity to explore with Janet the policies and events of the last two decades: from Sweet Charity to contemporary America.Janet-Poppendiech-&-Sweet-Charity

This evening will also feature local music, compelling personal accounts of hunger, and a simple meal served in a bowl handcrafted by a local artist. The bowl is yours to keep.

Seats for this advocacy event are $40 for a single ticket and $75 for a couple. Tickets can be purchased by calling 549.0543 or by heading to www.missoulafoodbank.org.
